Conversion of Residential Water Meters to Electronic Read - 10/February/2009

Approximately 400 residents in the Hamlet of Langdon are on a manual read system. This requires that meter readers must travel from house to house while recording the meter reading by sight, in person. This requires a large amount of resources to ensure that the water invoices go out accurately and on time.

Langdon Waterworks will be setting up appointments to convert to the electronic radio reads in March. The conversion from the manual read to the electronic radio read should take less than 30 minutes if everything is in place and ready to go. Langdon Waterworks personnel will have to enter the house to ensure that the connections to the water meter for the electronic radio read are in place and operational.

This minor inconvenience will save much time in the future months, so we appreciate your co-operation in helping us make our service to you more efficient. The timeline to complete this work is approximately two months.
