WATERING RESTRICTIONS - 06/July/2011
Langdon Waterworks has experienced a large demand of water overnight, this has reduced the reservoirs to very low levels. The water pressure has been reduced to conserve water until this critical time has passed.
Therefore, as of July 6, 2011 we are going to have to make the watering conservation mandatory. The same rules apply as previous years, even homes water on even calendar days, odd homes water on odd calendar days. With the watering times being 2 am to 4 am for automatic systems and 7 pm to 9 pm for any other manual systems. Customers with new sod or grass seed are exempt for the first 30 days after their grass has been put in.
Langdon Waterworks staff will be randomly monitoring the town and any contraventions will be surcharged at $100 per violation and added to your next bill.
For conservation tips on watering, please see our website, www.langdonwaterworks.ca for further details.

February 8th and 9th Water Service Interruption - 10/February/2011
The interruption was caused by a damage fire hydrant failure. This particular fire hydrant is not the property of Langdon Waterworks but the property of the condo association. The fire hydrant was damaged most likely by snow removal and further damaged when a large vehicle drove over the remainder of the fire hydrant stem causing the leak. Langdon Waterworks Ltd was unable to turn off the water at the property line because of piles of snow hiding this valve. To isolate this leak, a larger service area was affected to allow crews to turn off the water to the damaged fire hydrant; to isolate the damaged hydrant from the remainder of the system and to return potable water service to the condo association and affected residents. This fire hydrant is out of service and will remain out of service until the condo association can repair the hydrant.

Water Hardness & Water Pressure Fluctuations - 19/May/2010
Due to the warmer weather and higher demands for water, Langdon Waterworks has been using the old Water Treatment Plant more frequently. This has increased the hardness in the water to higher than normal levels, evident by the white spots on cars, fixtures, etc. However, the water is quite safe for consumption. Note that water hardness is very difficult to control, and water softener appliances have become standard in most homes to help diminish the hardness.
During the summer of 2010, residents of Langdon may experience momentary pressure fluctuations. This is no cause for alarm. Volker Stevin and other developers may be flushing lines and testing pressures on the main water lines and services they are installing. Rocky View Utility Corp. will also be flushing fire hydrants sporadically to keep the main water lines clear. We apologize for the inconveniences and will try to keep interruptions to a minimum. Please keep checking our web site for updates.
